Eviden w Join IT in Łódź

In September, the next, fourth cycle of the Join IT in Lodz project organized by the Łódź ICT Cluster started.

On September 13, the premiere of ten films promoting the new technologies sector in the Łódź region took place. This time, under the slogan "No woman = No code", films were made promoting women in companies from the technology sector.

There was also Eviden! A film was shot in an industrial office in Łódź, in which the main characters were Magdalena Arcimowicz (MA) – Service Leader, Kamila Polewczyk-Sońta (KPS) – Application Developer, Antonina Matuszek (AM) – Technical Engineer.

The press briefing inaugurating the joinitinlodz.pl campaign was attended by the city authorities, represented by the First Vice-President of Łódź, Adam Pustelnik, and representatives of the Lodz University of Technology, including the Vice-Rector, Prof. Paweł Srumiłło, chairman of the ICT Cluster in which we actively operate.

Below is a short interview with Eviden employees participating in the recordings and Grzegorz Trzciński (GT) - Site Manager of Eviden in Łódź:

Editor: Kamila, you took part as a heroine in this year's edition of Join IT in Lodz under the slogan "No woman = No code", what made you participate in the recording? As a woman, how do you evaluate the “No woman = No code” project?

KPS: It's good that we promote women. The IT sector is perfect for women. I don't know why it's been assumed that it's a man's profession. We are physically predisposed to this. It's a desk job like any other. Moreover, it provides many opportunities for creative time management, which is very necessary for women to combine many life roles.

What prompted me to record was my sense of duty towards the company and the desire to break away from my daily routine. And a long time ago I dreamed of working in film production. I seize the slightest opportunity to observe this feint.

Editor: Magda, how do you, as the heroine of the film, evaluate the entire action after publishing all the videos?

MA: The action was very efficient, it was clear that everything was well organized and the quality of the films was at the highest level. Additionally, the topic of this year's issue is extremely important nowadays. Especially for our company, which, as the Eviden brand, promotes the employment of women at all job levels.

Editor: What did participating in this project give you personally?

MA: Personally, it was a very interesting experience for me. I was able to hear the stories of other women and realize that women are becoming a force and there are definitely more and more of us. I certainly gained greater faith in my own strength and capabilities, as well as a large dose of motivation to act in the field of my development.

Editor: Grzegorz, you have been the Site Manager of the Łódź office for years, actively involved in the cluster's activities on the local market, how do you evaluate this year's edition of Join IT in Lodz under the slogan "No woman = No code"?

GT: Great initiatives are those that do not consist in a one-off effort, but in coordinated action over time. This year's campaign is an example of this.

Editor: In your opinion, what do women bring to the IT business that men cannot do or find it much more difficult?

GT: Women moderate the mood in project teams through their presence in them, thus promoting cooperation and cooperation for pure competition. They are an integral part of running today's business in the IT sector, which should not be, and fortunately is no longer, only a 'male domain'.
